Ikebana Exhibition This Weekend

This year's Saga Goryu Hana Matsuri Ikebana exhibition is on display today and tomorrow at the Portland Japanese Garden. Hana Matsuri, the flower festival is an annual celebration in the Spring.

The Japanese Garden recently reopened after a lengthy closure for some renovations and new construction. There is a whole new welcome area with ticket sales at the bottom of the hill, and a terrace with several new buildings at the top, where ticket sales used to be.

It's always been a popular attraction, but the line at the ticket booth was something new. It moved quickly, though. If you're going, allow more than an hour on your parking meter, and remember parking in the area is no longer free and is now handled through the pay stations.
